Encouraging Her Resilience Online Recovery Program: Accountability Through Drug and Alcohol Testing

At Encouraging Her Resilience, our mission is to support women in their journey to a life of sobriety, healing, and spiritual growth. As part of this commitment, we emphasize the importance of accountability—not to bring shame, but to promote integrity, recovery, and reliance on God’s strength.

There may be times when participants in our online recovery program will be asked to undergo a drug or alcohol test at the discretion of the counselor. This will occur if the counselor feels that a participant may not be fully honest in her program, or if the participant has admitted to a relapse or has voiced struggles with staying sober.

Why Testing is a Part of Recovery:

  1. Promoting Honesty: John 8:32 says, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Honesty is a cornerstone of recovery. Whether it’s honesty with yourself, with others, or with God, it is crucial to embrace the truth on your journey to sobriety. Testing helps to ensure
  2. Building Trust, Not Shame: Testing is not a tool for judgment or condemnation, as Romans 8:1 reminds us, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Instead, it is a way to create a safe space where transparency leads to healing. Our goal is to provide a supportive, Christ-centered environment where you can be vulnerable without fear of shame.
  3. Supporting Your Recovery: If a counselor suspects that someone is struggling, testing
allows us to offer additional support at the right time. Sometimes, we may falter on the path to sobriety, and that’s when it’s important to lean on God’s grace for strength. Testing is a way to identify when extra encouragement and resources are needed to get back on track.

A Faith-Based Approach:

At Encouraging Her Resilience, our approach to drug and alcohol testing reflects God’s love and grace. Hebrews 12:11 teaches us that “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” In the same way, testing is intended to produce peace and healing, not guilt or shame. Our goal is to encourage honesty and help you stay committed to a life of sobriety, trusting God every step of the way.

How Testing Works:

  • If testing is required, your counselor will notify you and explain the reasons behind the decision.
  • Regardless of where you are located, you will be directed to a designated lab near you for the test.
  • The test will be fully covered by Encouraging Her Resilience, so there is no need to worry about the cost.
  • Results will remain completely confidential and will be shared only between you and your counselor.
  • If the test reveals a relapse or a struggle, it is not the end of your journey—it is a signal that more support is needed, and our team will help guide you back on your path to
    healing.

No Financial Burden:

We understand that financial concerns can add stress to an already challenging process. That’s why all drug and alcohol testing for participants is fully covered by Encouraging Her Resilience. You will not need to pay out-of-pocket for the test. You will be designated to a nearby lab, no matter where you are located, and the process will be handled confidentially and respectfully.

Embracing God’s Grace in Accountability:

Testing is not about punishment—it’s about helping you grow stronger in your sobriety and your faith. We want to remind you that God’s grace is abundant, even in moments of weakness. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). We are here to support you with love, compassion, and practical help, knowing that true recovery is possible through God’s healing power.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if you feel nervous about this part of the program, please reach out to your counselor. We are always here to listen, pray with you, and guide you through each step of your recovery journey.
